Steps of Printmaking
1. Decide on an idea
2. Create several thumbnail sketches
3. Create a final detailed sketch
4. Transfer the sketch to the linoleum block
5. Mark which areas will be removed to leave the white of the paper
6. Carve the material of the block away in the appropriate areas
7. Proof your block
8. Mark your heavy paper with registration marks
9. Apply ink to the block
10. Place the blank paper and the block in the press, or find a baren to use
11. Use the press or baren to apply downward pressure and transfer the ink to the paper
12. Label each completed print with your name, the title, and the edition number
