Step-by-step
Step 1: Decide on your image to reference for your face with glasses. I have sunglasses up front to use for a self-portrait.
Step 2: Begin sketching the proportions of the face on your paper. Remember to start with a loose searching line and work into defining your details.
Step 3: Decide on your geometric shapes for the background. Add them in purposefully. They should frame the face...NOT take over it!
Step 4: Shade the face.
Step 5: Pick your color scheme and color in the shapes around the face and in the glasses.
Step 6: Go back into the hair and face and thicken up some choice lines with the pencil.
Step 7: Clean it up. Erase stray marks and add any finishing touches.
Step 8: Name and color scheme on the back.
Step 9: Upload to your digital portfolio.
