Part 1: Go buy some candy for your observational drawing!
Part 2: Eat some for inspiration. Then arrange the bag so it is ripped open and wrinkled a bit. Have some candy spilling out or right next to it.
Criteria:
1: Draw on a blank sheet of paper.
2: Fill the whole page with the image. Really start thinking about your composition. This drawing should end up larger than the actual candy wrapper.
3: Get the proportions right. Sketch lightly first and make sure everything looks correct.
4: The drawing should be of a ripped candy wrapper with the candy spred around.
5: Focus on value. The objective of this assignment is to continue working with value. Find the range of values you see in the wrapper and candy.
6: COLOR this with colored pencils. If you need to borrow some just ask.
This is the first sketchbook assignment that will count more than just a participation grade. This will be a project grade as well as all the sketchbook assignments after it. You should be in the routine of the homework assignments now. I would expect this to take someone at least 45 minutes.
